What started as a vision to simplify school administration software has grown into a trusted partner for Montessori schools across the country. Over the past five years, we have worked tirelessly to create Cordelia, a software designed specifically for schools, ensuring educators can focus on what truly matters – teaching and community building.
The Story Behind Clever Education Solutions
Clever Education Solutions was founded by Dominique Mouthon and Katie McChesney, both deeply immersed in the Montessori world. As a Montessori-trained educator and a former school administrator, Dominique saw firsthand the challenges of managing a school with inefficient tools and systems that did not meet the specific needs of Montessori schools. Katie, with her expertise in data management and software implementation, recognized an opportunity to create a platform that streamlined administrative processes, reducing frustration and empowering schools to operate more effectively.
Serge Mouthon, an expert in operations and business management, brought with him a deep understanding of how to optimize processes for efficiency and scalability. His experience in streamlining business operations has been instrumental in shaping Cordelia’s approach – ensuring that it not only meets the needs of Montessori educators but also enhances the overall operational efficiency of schools.
Blake Skidmore, with his valuable experience in coding and Montessori school software development, also played a key role in shaping Cordelia’s technical foundation. Both Blake and Katie contributed to the early success of Clever Education Solutions. While they are no longer actively involved, their efforts helped lay the groundwork for the platform we continue to refine and grow today.

The name ‘Cordelia,’ derived from the Latin ‘cor’ meaning heart, represents our heart-centered approach to education technology. From day one, our goal has been to create software that simplifies school administration while maintaining the personal, relationship-driven nature of Montessori education. We’ve worked closely with schools to understand their pain points, incorporating their feedback directly into the development of Cordelia.
